Well, it’s not so difficult to find something good to eat in Naples, since pizza Margherita was invented here, and the city is filled of very good pizzerias. Among the best there are Sorbillo (via Tribunali) and Fratelli la Bufala (Mergellina, near Piazza Sannazzaro).
Moreover, Naples is famous for take away food, usually deep fried specialies: try pasta cresciuta, crocchè and everything you can find in a “friggitoria” (there are manies) or ask for a “frittura all’italiana” in the pizzerias.
This is about simple, tasty and cheap food in Naples, but if you talk about the city cook, it’s another long, tastier story…

4 of us are in Naples on Sunday, May 24, 2009 for the day form a cruise ship. We have ALREADY seen Amalfi coast, sorrento, Capri, Pompeii, and want a day in Naples. Can you recommend someone to show us around both by car and on foot for the day?

Hi,I have been living in Napoli for three months, it is a very interesting city, the pizza is the best, the buildings are beautiful but the majority of the people….mamma mia!! Very ignorant, rude and impatient!! I know it is the culture of the majority of Neapolitans but the mentality is incredible…..I am sorry, there are very few good points…I have been ripped off so many times, been classed as a ´tourist´ and shopkeepers and restaurant workers just think i am stupid…..dont get me wrong, there are beautiful places here, more so than places that i have been…..it´s just the mentality, no order, no rules…..and the police and officials…..phewwww….sorry, anybody else agree??????

simple, tasty, and not fancy places please.
Have been to Naples 3 times over last 30 years so have an idea of city.
